The Social Impact Scholars is looking to conduct research about small businesses who positively impact their communities. SIS companies are for-profit enterprises that typically address at least one of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) in their mission statement (or would like to).
Who Can Qualify
We are looking to research and write about SME’s who:
- Have become a certified B-corporation and are willing to share their experience, challenges, and advice
- Are mission-driven and profitable (or on the way to profitability) for at least two years and are willing to share their experience, challenges, and advice
Ultimately, the Social Impact Scholars research team is dedicated to advancing the discussion around SME’s who positively impact their communities. So much research on sustainable business is dedicated to large / multinational corporations; while that information is essential, SME’s contributions need to be better documented as well.
Current Research Projects
Our current research projects include:
- Interviews with SME’s for the purpose of publishing in non-academic periodicals (magazines, newspapers, etc.)
- Interviews with SME’s for the purpose of publishing in academic periodicals (related to organizational development and culture)
Stay tuned for our upcoming publications—we’re well on our way!
